'At Season’s End' will be a somewhat more traditional winter concert from the Wellspring Mixed Ensemble, combining sacred repertoire that has been part of the choral tradition for generations with newer works and arrangements, offering fresh perspectives on familiar seasonal ideas.
The Wellspring Treble Ensemble will present ‘Ways to Survive Winter,’ with offerings of tools for renewal and resilience within the trials and opportunities of the winter season, centered on themes of harvest, storytelling, and stargazing.
On Saturday, we are joined by the Shorewood High School Choir, directed by Marilee C’Stranne, who will open the program and combine with the Wellspring Ensembles on stage for a group finale you won’t want to miss!
At its heart this program explores the feeling of arriving at the end of a year - there is nostalgia in returning to music and traditions we recognize, excitement in encountering the unexpected, and warmth in gathering together during the darkest parts of winter.
